Last Friday we had warm weather and sunshine so we went out to play. Liam made a snowman and Ella loved it! Hopefully this is the last snowman of the year and we can say good bye to winter here in Michigan.
We also spotted one of the Cedarwood (our townhome complex) opossums last week. Liam of course fed him.
When I started thinking about spring break plans this year, I got stumped really quickly because everywhere in Michigan and the surrounding states is freezing. I really wanted to do something fun but most of Michigan's activities are meant for outdoors. I was really frustrated because I really wanted to go on a little vacation. Well, I remembered a friend talking about their trip to The Great Wolf Lodge, so I looked it up and decided very quickly that it would be a perfect spot for us to go for Spring Break! We invited our friends the French's to go with us. We were so glad that they agreed to come!
The Great Wolf Lodge has a lot of fun activities for kids of all ages! We especially enjoyed the water park. Ella was entertained for hours.
Every 10 or 15 minutes this bucket dumped, if I remember correctly, 10,000 gallons of water!
One of Ella's favorite parts of the water park was the little splash pad area. She also loved a little water slide. She probably went down it 50 times.
Ella was scared of the raccoon.
On our way home we made a stop at Lake Michigan to see the ice! It was really cold and frozen.
I got out of the car for a picture and quickly got back in the car.
Liam said that all of this was ice. The ice made really cool ridges.
Liam said that he couldn't see the bottom of this hole.
So of course Aaron decided to get in the hole.
Ella slept the whole time we were at the lake and for a large portion of the drive home. She is such a good girl!
We were so glad the French's came with us! We had tons of fun with them!
Ella's favorite book is Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You? We read it together every night. Some nights she gets very excited and reads it with me. Other nights she gets mad if I even ask her to say anything. We were lucky enough to get her reading it with me on video one night. I wish we got it without the binky in her mouth but you can still kind of hear her.
P.S. No comments on the lameness of my sounds please :)
We had a really fun Valentine's Day. In the morning Ella and I made Daddy some delicious sugar cookies. When Liam got home from work we went out and had a really yummy dinner.
Liam brought home a rose for me and a baby rose for Ella. We are lucky girls because we have the best Valentine!
Liam took Ella sledding for the first time about two weeks ago. We have so much snow right now that the snow removed from our parking lot made the perfect little hill for Ella to sled on. She hated it! We will have to try again when it isn't so cold.
Ella turned 18 months old yesterday. She is still as cute as can be. Some of her favorite things include: walking around the house saying "mmmooooommmm", making animal noises, playing the piano, running away from me, and making messes. Ella often walks around the house laughing at things; she thinks she is pretty hilarious. She probably is the funniest person she knows (I stole Grandpa's joke)!
